KTM Red Bull factory rider Kurt Caselli at Dakar Series Desafio Ruta 40 Rally Raid. Caselli, a offroad and Baja desert racing specialist in the US, made his debut with the KTM factory team at the 2013 Dakar Rally where he stepped in to ride for the injured Coma and delivered a very solid first rally.
With a solid performance during the stages at Dakar Series Desafio Ruta 40 Rally Raid on his KTM rally bike Kurt Caselli established 3rd in overall standing of rally raid trailing leader Helder Rodrigues, overall time 14:07.52h by +1:39.
At the 4th stage, Marc Coma and his KTM factory teammate Kurt Caselli, who also lost time on Wednesday when he stopped to assist him, finished 1-2 in the stage just 1:50 minutes apart Chaleco Lopez, their Chilean teammate finished seventh on the KTM 450 Rally bike in what was a very closely contested stage.


The top five riders were all within five minutes of each other as they battled the track from Belin to Chilecito over a total distance of 586.73 km, 192.32 km of which was timed special.
